Squirrel Class had a great time at Beamish Museum.
The children helped out in one of the Pit cottages. They had to make the bed, do the washing outside, put it through the mangle, beat the rug, iron the clothes and even empty the chamber pot. They were rewarded with toast cooked over the range. Following this we had a ride on the tram to the High street where we visited the shops and bought a bag of sweets each from the sweet shop.
This was the highlight of the day.
