Usually weekends in school are very quiet with no one around, but on the night of the 15th June 2013 Woodland Primary School was a hive of activity with the children taking part in our Annual Giant Sleepover. This has been an Annual Event in school for the past 4 years, and it is one of the highlights of the childrens year, and the parents! who get a night away from their children.
This year the children were sponsored to sleepover in school and take part in a variety of activities and raise money for UNICEF and school.
The evenings activities started with staff, children and parents etc taking part in a family quiz and games followed by bingo and then a supper. Parents left at 8.30pm and the children and staff then settled down in their pyjamas to watch a bedtime film. Lights were out at 10.00pm and the school began to settle down, with a little bit of talking, giggling and snoring!!
The next morning the children were up very early! The children had their first breakfast at 7.30am then took part in the Minty Mouth Wash Challenge. Later the parents were invited in for a cooked breakfast as a special treat for Fathers Day.
