Our topic this term is called Olympics. We will discover more about Brazil, the Olympic host country and other countries who will take part. We will consider the importance of the Olympic and Paralympic values to our lives. As part of this topic, we will find out what it would have been like to live as an Ancient Greek. We will compare the modern and ancient Olympics. In Science we will be looking at health and nutrition. We will be learning to play and dance to some Samba rhythms. At the end of this topic we will perform a play based on a Greek legend.
This term our topic is called Ingenious Inventions. We are looking at inventions that have changed our world including a study of our local area, focussing on railways. We are going to visit the railway museum at Shildon. We will be finding out about famous inventors such as George Stephenson and Leonardo da Vinci. In Science we are exploring electricity and learning how to construct a circuit. We will then combine our knowledge with our design technology skills to make moving vehicles. We are going to think about what might be invented in the future and we will be making our own inventions. These will be taken to our own Dragon’s Den panel during our topic celebration day.
This Autumn we are learning about Picture This.
