The Badger and Owl class have had a very busy week with two trips out of school.
The first trip was to Middleton Mart, we were invited by UTASS. We found out about how the mart works, what the farming year is like in Teesdale and also about the process of making wool from sheep into a jumper! We also really enjoyed seeing different breeds of chicken and asking lots of questions about them. This visit has given us some inspiration for our Harvest assembly.
The second visit was to the Bowes Museum where we began a project about WW1. This project will involve many Primary Schools in the area. We were allowed to go up into the archives and look at some original documents as well as the fabulous views. We then looked at some artefacts, one of which was a German anti tank gun. In the afternoon we listened to some poems and wrote our own shape poem about WW1. The next part of the project will be to work with an artist doing some metal embossing.
