Netball Competition

17th February 2023 By katrinascanlon

The year 5 & 6 children travelled to Newton Aycliffe to compete in a netball tournament with many schools around the area.
Woodland (B) team (year 5’s) managed to get to the quarter finals, but sadly, we lost 3-2 against Evenwood (A), it was a very close match!
Woodland (A) team (year 6’s)  made it to the final and we played with enthusiasm and skill and scored many goals. Our opponents were a strong team as well, meaning at the end of the match, it was a 2-2 draw and had to go into last goal wins. Woodland scored the last goal and won the tournament!
The netball tournament was great fun and we all played really well in our teams.

Squirrel Class visit from Ken Cook

2nd December 2022 By katrinascanlon

Squirrel Class enjoyed a visit from Ken Cook who records and forecasts the local weather. He showed us the equipment he uses including three different thermometers to measure air temperature, ground temperature and one which is used to compare the last reading with the one before. We asked him some questions and he did a great job of answering them for us.
