First Aid Workshop
COP27 Schools Conference
At Woodland Primary we have enjoyed taking part in the COP27 schools conference today and feel it’s important to be involved. We found out about natural and new technological devices that will help many environmental issues the world is facing today. We have all made pledges about what we can do at home and in school to help stop climate
change.
Pumpkin Carving
This week all the children at Woodland had a lovely treat. ASDA in Bishop Auckland brought in a pumpkin for every child to carve. Everyone had a fantastic afternoon and there were some great masterpieces. We would like to thank Pat Kingsnorth from the village for organising this and for the ladies from the Natters group for helping.
Halloween Disco
Woodland Harvest Festival
Yesterday we celebrated our Harvest Festival. Squirrel Class told the story of The Tiny Seed and Owl Class shared their wonderful autumn poems. It was lovely to see so many people there to support the children. Our School Council organised a collection for the foodbank and thank you to everyone for all the generous donations.
Gav Cross Storytelling Workshop
This week the children all enjoyed storytelling workshops with Gav Cross from the Highlights Rural Touring Scheme.
Gav came into school to work with the children telling exciting stories, involving the audience and creating lots of laughter!
GNAAS Visit to Woodland Primary
We have had some special visitors to Woodland this week. Deb, Nicky and Percy from the GNAAS came and did an assembly with the children and explained about the very important work that the GNAAS do. The children were given a book mark and a sticker and had their photo taken with their mascot ‘Percy’.
