We all had a fun Sports Day at Woodland last week, and the weather stayed dry for us!
The children enjoyed taking part in carousel games, including long jump, shot put, obstacle course and football skills. They then joined in traditional sports day races, including, egg and spoon and running, and the obligatory adult race.
When the sports finished, the children and family members all enjoyed refreshments and a go on the tombola.
Thank you to everyone that attended, we raised £110 for Friends of Woodland School. This will be spent on treats for our children in school.
The Brilliant Blue Reef Aquarium
On the 20th of June, we went to an amazing aquarium in Tynemouth we saw fish, turtles, sting rays, starfish and so much more. We had a lesson where we learned about starfish, anemones and different types crabs. My favourite fact was that starfish have one eye on each tentacle. While eating lunch, we watched the seal show and they waved at us!!
After lunch, we went to the beach and we dug holes in the sand. Mrs Bentley took us rock pooling and we found, a shrimp, a fish, sea snails, limpets, barnacles, crabs and anemones. At 3 o’ clock, it was time to go home we were tired but we had a fantastic day!

There was a choice of chicken dinner and quiche for mains and cake, custard or ice cream. Special thanks to Karen our cook for making this delicious lunch for everyone to enjoy.
